In
celebration of the Town of Palm Beach’s 100th birthday, the
Centennial Commission is planning some spectacular events and entertainment.
Omega Communications + Konstantine Partners had the pleasure of
designing the logo for the Centennial. The logo was a challenge
to say the least; we worked closely with the Commission on the
ID development.
The challenge was
to define Palm Beach's image...some key descriptive words the Commission
suggested were: Tourism, People, Business, The Arts, Government,
Politics, Education, Philanthropy and, of course, Celebration.
OC+KP presented dozens of directions...a
decision was made to keep the logo traditional but with a modern
flair. OC+KP incorporated the synonymous and very traditional palm
leaves, and then modified them into contemporary minimalism, to
show celebration, which worked well graphically in
the overall execution.
The
final design on the left communicates Palm Beach's image exceptionally
well. The tall elegant palm leaves is iconic with the name Palm
Beach; the star above with eight points represents government /
politics and education and the burst or blossomed leaves define
celebration / fireworks. The color transformation from dark green
to light projects motion and progress. And lastly the simplicity
adds elegance to the mark making it easy to apply to different
media and to reproduce. |

The color scheme was recommended
by the Centennial board in keeping with tradition and brand consistency.
We are pleased with the final
design, and look forward to seeing the brand expand. OC+KP partners
would like to thank Zach Morfogen for making this possible….and
the Palm Beach Centennial Board.
